First Afghan

Started my first afghan, also known as a fancy blanket, the other day. Its the basic granny square style made with two different yarns. One solid color and one multicolor. I picked a lavender and like a water color mix. It is looking very light and pretty. Hopefully it will turn out well even though its my first one. Granny square is a pretty easy pattern to follow and it looks pretty too.

Whatcha think? :)

In the Beginning...

For some reason I just love crocheting now. At first when my cousin Anna taught me how I would crochet for like a week then put it down and not pick it up for months and months. But strangely enough since about the beginning of November maybe I have been straight up crochet-crazy. I have made a total of 7 hats and 2 scarves. One hat, not being a success though... it needs some work. Anyways, ever since I have gotten home for Christmas holidays I have made both of those scarves and 3 of the hats, and I have only been home a week! I'm trying to build up to bigger projects, ultimately making my roommate Lindsey a crocheted cardigan.

Lindsey, being supportive of my crochet madness, agreed to be my model for pictures of the items I have made so far, 4 hats and 2 scarves. Yes, all of these items have been made for people, but I figured I could post them up to see if anyone was interested in them. They can be made to order, any color you choose. Use your imagination!

1. Grey and green stripped scarf with fringe
2. Grey puff stitch slouch beret with bow
3. Purple earflap beanie with white trim and white flower
4. Purple slouch beanie with black trim
5. Blue, white, purple slouch beanie with larger matching flower
6. Matching blue, white, purple scarf with fringe

Like anything, let me know! :)
